Strong weekend for Thornton pair

Feb 05, 2018

Team Thornton produced another strong weekend when both Stephanie and Damien were able to post metro winners.

Stephanie continued her stunning form at Moonee Valley when she was able to salute on the ever so consistent Angry Gee for Mornington trainer Jerome Hunter.  Angry Gee stalked the speed before storming home to win a heat of the 955m series.

With Angry Gee winning it was Steph's 8th Moonee Valley winner for the season and 14th Metro success, highlighting what has been a strong season thus far. Steph said post race "he was on the weeks back up, but back to the 955 Jerome had him in super order"

Brother Damien was rewarded for his hard work with a Saturday metro winner aboard the Henry Dwyer trained Paris Rock who remains unbeaten in her short career. Paris Rock has gone from Maiden to Class 1 and now metro level in 3 starts and has plenty of upside.  Damien mentioned post race in his interview "she is a lovely filly who really let down today and put them to the sword".

For Damien it was his 49th winner for the season and he is ready to raise the bat for his half century.
